Our Nurses

We have committed to working only with care providers who share our values of justice, equity, inclusivity and possess an adventurous, bold, fun-loving spirit.

All nurses working with AidVenture have recent or current acute care in-hospital experience, active Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications as well as training in Stroke Recognition from NIH. When traveling with AidVenture, you are assured a Baccalaureate-educated Nurse (BSN, RN) with a valid RN license and a minimum 5 years of nursing experience in the Acute-Care Inpatient setting and personal licensure insurance.

All AidVenture nurses, PCAs and Travel Companions have undertaken a rigorous selection and credentialing process which includes a background check. AidVenture employees possess a valid US Passport.

Founder, Amelia Wietman, RN, is an ICU Registered Nurse in the Boston area. While nursing is her professional calling, exploring the world is her passion! She has travelled the world with friends and family and is always planning her next trip. On a recent trip to the Highlands of Scotland with her grandmother, the idea was born for a service dedicated to assisting others who share an excitement for exploration.

Amelia is an Officer in the U. S. Naval Nurse Corps, which is why AidVenture offers a 10% discount to all US Military Veterans with VA-approved service-connected disabilities.
